450 A.D. Hunting Poem
Listen
closely as odd events transpire:
Two people chosen to reclaim a
prize
Hunt
their foe, though they hunger, thirst, and tire.
As they pursue the beast, they
realize
More
than they can give, winning may require.
They plunge into the peril without
fear;
And
soon, the enemy they encounter.
Though vict'ry is theirs, injury
severe
Causes
the pain of one to surmount her
Ability to toil beside her peer.
Alone, with doubled determination,
Against a fiend of grim reputation,
The heroine brings the quest's
cessation
And with it, her own illumination.
